About Family-Tree
Family-Tree is a web app for building and exploring a family across many generations. It centres on an interactive tree visualisation, backed by a relationship engine that works out how any two people are related — including kinship terms across many cultures (such as grandparents, great-uncles, cousins once removed and in-laws) — from just the parent and spouse links you record.
What you can do
- Build an interactive, zoomable family tree with multiple layout styles.
- Add members with photos (uploaded or generated cartoon avatars), dates and details.
- See relationships named automatically and compare any two people.
- Keep photo albums, family stories, events, documents and places on a map.
- View a generation timeline and a dashboard of family statistics.
- Invite relatives to view or help maintain the tree, with per-person roles.
- Connect two separate family trees (for example through a marriage).
- Use the app in 30+ languages, including French, German, Spanish and Italian.
A note on accuracy
Relationship names and derived information are computed from the data you enter. If parents, spouses, genders or dates are missing or incorrect, the results will reflect that. You are always in control of the information in your tree.
Contact
